Resume and CV tips
Your resume is an important part of your application to a new role at Moody's. Update yours today with these tips from our recruiting team.
Make it easy to read.
Choose clear and legible fonts. Triple check for spelling and grammar errors. Have a trusted person proofread it.
Keep it brief and relevant.
A resume or CV is intended to be a hook to capture interest for further discussion. No more than 3 pages long.
Keep a consistent format.
We recommend chronological format with a skills summary and personal statement at the top.
Specify career gaps and sabbaticals.
We are understanding that gaps in work experience happen for several personal or other reasons.
Include key accomplishments.
It’s easy to forget our own achievements - don’t undersell yourself!
Tailor it.
Highlight experience that is directly relevant to the job posting you’re applying for. If you’re interested in multiple different types of career areas, create a resume version for each type. If making a change to a new career area, highlight transferrable skills and responsibilities that could benefit you in the new area.
Cover letters and references are not necessary.
However, it’s nice to include a personal statement or executive summary outlining your background and motivations for applying for the role.
