The Department / Team

Based around the globe, including London, US and Australia, the Issuer Solutions Advisory services team is responsible for the implementation of our Issuer Tools and Solutions. This includes customization of solutions, development of bespoke solutions, on-site installation, configuration, and training services. The team of experienced professionals employs a client centric approach and delivers world class solutions, servicing some of the top Issuers in the securitization space.

The Role / Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Moody’s Analytics Structured Finance Advisory Services Team. As a member of the team, the Assistant Director will be at the cutting edge of industry developments and will play a significant role in shaping them. The Assistant Director will be deeply involved in ABS/RMBS financial modelling and product development, staying ahead of market trends.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for performing configuration, customization, and documentation related work for Moody’s Analytics Issuer Solutions ("MA Issuer Solutions") products. This role demands a high level of financial modelling, analytics, ability to handle multiple clients/projects, and technology infrastructure expertise.

The Assistant Director will collaborate closely with clients and MA professionals to overcome configuration/product design challenges while dealing with complex securitization structures, lead projects day to day from project and resources management to client engagement and provide top-tier support to existing MA Issuer Solutions clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading implementation projects of Moody's proprietary ABS Suite Plus structured finance software product
  • Applying extensive knowledge of securitization structures and payment waterfall rules across diverse securitization asset classes
  • Advising clients on optimizing their securitization process to meet contractual, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Providing insights to senior team members and the product management team based on client requirements and industry trends
  • Reading securitization legal documents and identifying key structural terms
  • Developing and building reports using Crystal Reports, Microsoft SSRS and Excel
  • Designing, executing, and testing SQL queries to ensure they meet client requirements
  • Proactively identifying potential issues throughout the project
  • Mastering detailed securitization analytics including asset class specific methodologies and related cashflow/bond modelling
  • Engaging with multiple clients to discuss, explain and reconcile data modelling/reporting results
  • Assisting clients by answering complex business-related questions with the applications
  • Leading technical presentations and travelling as needed for clients’ on-site visits

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with emphasis in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, math, computer science or related quantitative field
  • 6-8 years of exposure to banking, credit and/or financial industry
  • Background in structured finance, preferably on the issuer side (mortgages, auto loans, servicing loans, originating loans, and/or securitization of loans)
  • Strong quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable tasks
  • Spreadsheet modelling skills
  • Efficient approach to problem solving
  • Dedicated to customer focus
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) concepts
  • Knowledge of SSRS, Crystal Reports experience is a plus
  • Some coding experience (for example: SQL queries, VBA, Python) is advisable
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage ambiguity
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Relevant working experience in one the following areas:
    • Mortgage and asset-backed securities
    • Accounting Firms
    • Corporate Trust
    • Mortgage Banking
    • Loan Servicing
    • Fixed income investments
    • Rating Agency
  • 10% travel is required
