Title: AVP-Systems Engineer

Location: 1414 S. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28203, USA

Duties: Design, deploy, operate, and monitor cloud-native applications using both containerized and serverless technologies on public cloud while integrating with a wide variety of technologies across Moody’s Investors Service. Define public cloud hosting patterns and processes for application delivery, including HA/DR, caching, data access, messaging, UI, API management, deployment, and security patterns to ensure operational resiliency at scale. Partner with business and technology teams to design and develop scalable and highly available cloud-native solutions for MIS applications. Develop a repository of cloud native hosting design pattern diagrams and source code repos. Design and implement multi-region public cloud Kubernetes clusters that are scalable, secure, and resilient. Present and educate software engineering leadership and teams on public cloud application design patterns. Display the highest level of personal integrity, initiative, and teaming abilities. Define cloud resources using an infrastructure-as-code and GitOps-based approach. Automate CICD processes for cloud-native and container-based applications. Develop systems to automate cloud operations and application support tasks. Provide premier support across cloud engineering, operations, and applications. Use tools such as JIRA and Confluence to track requirements and provide insight into the development process.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field plus five (5) years of experience as a Senior Consultant, Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or in a related technical position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with the following: Cloud Solutions: AWS, Azure; Operating System: RHEL,Amazon Linux2; AWS Services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Auto scaling, IAM, EKS, API Gateway, WAF, Image Builder, Secret Manager, AWS Backup, EFS, ECS, EKS, ELB, SQS, SNS, ECR, Route 53; Databases: MongoDB, Aurora DB; Oracle Containerization Tools: Docker, ECS, EKS, Helm; Monitoring Tools: CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana Automation Tools CloudFormation; Terraform CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, Git Hub, Code Commit; Programming Languages: Python, Shell; Groovy Application: Apache.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $149,469 - $178,450, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
